In this crazy time of COVID - 19 let's set a new intention. Mine? Try to apreciate something new every week.
I've decided that my version of Self Care is about doing things that make me happy. Now, I know that seems obvious but I can get caught up in the routine and forget to take stock of the good stuff. I've decided to put some new rules in place.
1. Do something that makes you laugh, and pass it on.
2. Make something beautiful and share it with someone.
3. Learn something new and contribute to a larger discussion.
4. Cherish lessons from the past and dream big for the future.
I spent the past few weeks trying to figure out how I was going to keep myself accountable for this new challenge. I am pretty good at setting small goals and jotting down 5 things each night. This practice has become a great way to close the day with my own little thank you note, to myself.
So far, I have laughed with friends over House Party, baked cookies and wrap them in a pretty box for neighbors, listen to pod casts and shared my learning with anyone who will listen - and here's the big one, I made a list of things that make me happy and built a plan to do them more often.
So, here we go. I am going to try to post once per month. I am sure it will start small, even though I have tons of ideas. My dear friend H.B. gave me some great advice years ago, "you don't have to boil the ocean", start where you are.
